Alternative future scenarios

This theme explores what the future of Finland’s competitiveness could look like in the age of AI. Alternative future scenarios help us explore different possible trajectories and identify the opportunities, risks and choices associated with the development of AI.

What does this theme investigate

The theme investigates alternative future scenarios for a competitive Finland in the age of AI. Scenario work brings together the different research themes of the TRANSFORM-AI project and builds an overall picture of how AI may affect Finland’s competitiveness.

Future scenarios are described and analysed from the perspectives of technology, business, regulation, sustainability and ethics. This helps us better understand what is needed to build a competitive, responsible and sustainable Finland in the age of AI.

Scenario work is carried out throughout the project in collaboration with stakeholders. Their views and experiences inform the scenarios, ensuring that they are grounded in both research evidence and practical needs.
